My guess is that both he and the officer on the extreme left are Royal Artillery, possibly 70th Field Regiment. Further details requested. Originally commissioned into the King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry (KOYLI), Tom Reynolds MC came to the 16th DLI as a reinforcement at around about the same time as Arthur Vizard, in early March 1943. He was awarded his MC for his actions as Second in Command of B Company, 16 DLI, on 22/4/43. To read his citation click here. At the war's end he was Second in Command of C Company. |
