I would guess that the photograph above was taken at Winchelsea or Rye in 1942. Are they hitching a lift, or just showing off their pipes? The man on the extreme right looks very similar to the Pte C E Johnson who features on the 16 DLI C Company 1944 Sedjenane survivors photo. The soldier on the extreme left also features on this group photo. |

The photograph below is of an unidentified friend of Percy Ord, possibly 16 DLI.. The service dress (shiny buttons) suggests it must have been taken very early in the war. |
