Two further 2009 images of the Nazi flag which was liberated by John Wintershausen MM of the 16th DLI in Greece in December 1944. Over 60 years on, the flag is in remarkable condition. Below is a close-up. The items on the small display on the flag above include some of the photos featured on the previous pages and a copy of the Army form citation for his Military Medal award. |
