The Medjez el Bab Memorial in Tunisia commemorates those British servicemen who have no known grave. Some of the names on the DLI section of the Memorial are members of other DLI battalions that fought in Africa, but very many are of soldiers who fought with the 16th DLI and most of these are casualties of the Sedjenane Battle in February-March 1943. Compare this listing of names with the 16th DLI Roll of Honour and you will see just how many soldiers of the 16th DLI who fell in Tunisia have no known grave. Photographs courtesy Roy MIlls.
